Elected as a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium.

Paints The death of the warrior (La mort du guerrier, collections of the Province of East Flanders, now Kunstmuseum aan Zee, Ostend)

Travel to Tunisia and is inspired by Hammamet and Nabeul.

Paints the large canvas The uncontrollable laughter of a man of the XXest century (Le fou rire de l’homme du XXe siècle).

Travels to the south of Italy along the Amalfi Coast. Paints Night in Sorrento (Nuit à Sorrente).
